Hi,
A 973 mentor and his family are taking a trip through Europe and were interested in stopping by any teams that are near where they are going.
Does anyone know of teams in the following areas?
London
Norwich
Brussels
Anywhere in Holland
Paris
I tried looking on the map system on usfirst.org but it is messed up. Or there are a bunch of FRC teams in Asia that I have never heard about.
I don't know of any other than that.
sorry, Vivek

FRC Aisa is mostly Middle East, which is Israel, as far as I know. :)
Right but the map on usfirst shows tens of teams all over china and mongolia. I believe they have a glitch.

Hi
I'm from team 1884 and were based in London. There is going to be an mini exhibition tournament with all the UK on the 19th July. It's at the Farnborough Air show which has lots of flight displays and has loads of planes on display. If your in the area pop by and make it a day out.

Now if I were to study abroad spring semester in Canterbury, which team would be the closest? I think it would be neat to visit other teams across the pond
1933 is in cambridge.
Denman is a mentor i believe. I have PMed him about teams in uk.

EDIT: umm Denman's last activity was in January so I don't really expect a reply from him soon.
EuropEAN, Adam. Tsk tsk.
I only know the 2 Vex teams in Stevenage, England. No idea how close that is.

At the moment the closest teams to canterbury is 1884 (us) and 2448. We are both based in London which is about 70 miles away which is quite far. Trains will take 45 minutes from canterbury to london and driving will take about an hour. It would be cool if you could visit the teams but it is quite far.
I know there is an FRC team in the Netherlands. I'm not sure of the team number, but i think they are located in the south, in Maastricht, Limburg. Perhaps somebody might be able to confirm this and give a team number. They also have a website, where i'm sure you can find some sort of contact information.. Anybody else want to help out with the team number?

I used to be joint captain of 759, although am not really involved any more
They are based in Cambridge, famous for the university etc, and is about 50 miles north of london, and sort of in between london and norwhich.
759's website is www.systemetric.org (http://www.systemetric.org)
i've sent you a pm with an email address for them.
Hope this helps.
(also, if you hear of any teams further north, like near nottingham, i might be interested, i know theres one in doncaster but its still a 2 hour trek )

EuropEAN, Adam. Tsk tsk.
There are quite a few Euro-peons... Petr Cech instantly comes to mind.
As for the teams in the old world, I believe Denmark has strong FLL presence. A few Danes were handing out miniature Danish flags at Worlds last year.

FIRST is trying out a new google map interface and i've also noticed quite a few bugs. Hopefully these bugs get reported and fixed before the registration process starts.
MentorSearch.us has used google maps for a while now http://mentorsearch.us
The site has a listing of all the major robotics events in Europe, we are still in the process of adding team locations to this map
