Help Mozilla and FireFox break (or set?) a world record
Join us in our mission to set a Guinness World Record for the most software downloaded in 24 hours!
I'd go with set a world record. But I can't wait to use the new features of FF3.

Largest Wobble Board Ensemble
The largest wobble board ensemble involved 359 employees of Airmiles, who wobbled their boards for a minimum of 5 minutes to the tune of 'Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport' in Bolton, UK on July 12, 2007.
i just read this on the firefox website. I think at Duel, Moe needs to get 365 people with wobblies to beat this record
I didn't know that Firefox 3 was out of beta already already. A little odd that they're trying to set a world record while its still in beta.
Anyway, I've been using the latest Firefox 3 release candidate for a while now (because I find Firefox 2 extremely sluggish to the point of being obnoxious). Although there are some new features, I hardly notice them with the following exceptions
Better auto-complete in the address bar
Huge back button
Not all of my add-ons work (hardly a feature)However, one problem with it is that it crashes multiple times per day on my computer. This is really just an inconvenience, as I can click the button to restore session and I'm back up and running again in a matter of seconds. Nevertheless, it is a slight problem. I don't know if others have been having this problem or if its just me (I'm running vista on a year-old hp desktop pc)
EDIT: According to spreadfirefox.com, the official release date (and download day) is tomorrow, June 17. It's already here for those on the east coast.

T-minus 20 minutes to download day sequence commences!
Firefox website is crawling, why couldn't they have just hired Dave to encrypt it and taunt the world about the password?
The place where I work at, Mercury Marine, still has IE from Windows 98 on a Windows XP...lol and Lotus Notes...It works well though when you want a basic explorer to test all of my coldfusion and etc on it...I will definitly download Firefox 3 on my home computer though!!!!

Mozilla's record-breaking attempt to massively release Firefox 3.0, the latest version of the only Web browser to compete with Microsoft's Internet Explorer, unfortunately broke some of its servers as well.
A little odd that they're trying to set a world record while its still in beta.
They aren't, FF3.0 was released today.
Well, I somehow got through the traffic and downloaded. It is shiny!

My son downloaded it and I installed it. Looks about the same...but then, it used all my preferences that I set long ago when I used mozilla 1

So far the changes have been more of a nuisance than a help. I guess it'll grow on me as I get used to it, but I kinda regret deleting FF2.0.

I got it last night, after the rush had calmed down, but I didn't get to install it until just a minute ago. I kind of like it so far.

Mind qualifying the "nuisances," Lav? I've rather enjoying the version. It's a tad shiny, but very nice.
Oh great. Now they tell us after we download the upgrade.... (http://news.yahoo.com/s/pcworld/20080619/tc_pcworld/147277)

They tell us it's a serious risk. But they can't tell us what it is, now I'm a little paranoid.

The only significant one is recent sites list. While it's cool that it looks at the entire name, and not just the beginning, it ends up with me having to scroll through more results to get the one I want. I'm not a huge fan of the new look of the tabs either, but that's not a huge deal. Same with actually having to click on the RSS feeds to see the results rather than just scrolling over them.
I found an Easter egg that fits perfectly here. Type "about:robots" into your address bar and you will find a great surprise;) I couldn't stop laughing when I first saw this.

I've been using Firefox 3 since Grand Paradiso. I downloaded FF2 and was like "hmmm what is this on their site" and I downloaded it. I used it and downloaded every update until it became beta, and as soon as it did I ran through all of them up to the release candidates testing some of the neat feature and stuff. After the address bar the Beta became my main browser.
I'm finally glad that actually released FF3. I thought they enjoyed the hype sooo much they were gonna keep it forever....

Anyone know how to make it so I stay logged into CD. I know it's Firefox, because if I log in on Internet Explorer, I'll stay logged. And I am hitting the "remember me" option, so it isn't that.
