What is the coolest way you have seen somebody transport their robot to the field? SWAT was pretty cool... :D

There is Truck Town Thunder's cart (http://robotphotos.org/v/first/championship/2003/018_18A_001.jpg.html?g2_imageViewsIndex=1) and then there is everybody else....

Thanks for the mention, though our truck hasn't left GM since Championships '07 if I recall correctly. FIRST doesn't approve of the amount of space it takes up, so we're down to the cart you see attached to the back of the truck (it's since been rebuilt and now has cubbies for up to 6 batteries and two drawers for whatever we might need).

I would say ours is one of the more practical carts I've seen, but I've seen other powered carts that I've really been envious of.

I didn't catch the team number or name, but somebody at Championships this year had a hovercraft. At least it looked like a hovercraft when heading across the pits.

Anybody else see this? Anybody catch the number or have a pic?

1626 (Falcon robotics, I believe) had a hovercart in New York City. I'm not sure if that's the same team you're thinking of, or if they were at championships, but their cart was really cool. They won an award for it in New York. (Sorry, I don't have any pictures...)

EDIT: Actually, the award ceremony shows pictures of their cart, I just realized. It's on SOAP here (http://video.soap108.com/2008/ny/ny_award_best_cart.wmv).

Anyway, since I think this thread looks like a good place for a shameless plug, here's a picture of our cart. It has functional headlights, a blue/red strobe underneath it, and a horn(which, actually, is well received by judges in the pits. We got a safety token for using it in CT). It's not automated, but it has a compressor, tool boxes, and room for spare batteries, parts, and fasteners on it. We've had it for a few years now. Longer than I've been around.

Ya that was cool, until it broke down. At least it had wheels :D

My favorite has to be the hovercart. I don't know team number at champs.

34's space shuttle.
68's truck.
There's another "truck" out there--I think that would be the TechnoJays (:confused:94:confused:).
1006 had a hovercraft in 2006.

That's all I can think of right now, in no particular order.
