Hello to all! I have an announcement from Team Overdrive, the World Champion FTC this year, we are going FRC for the 2009 season! We are looking forwards to seeing and getting to know the FRC community.
And just to set it straight now... NO we did not name our team after the 2008 game, FIRST named it after us! :D

Congratulations, guys! I saw your bot at NYC, a truly awesome machine. And dominant, too. Sort of like the Simbots of FTC, I guess.
You guys are surely going to make a great, and lasting, addition to the FRC program in years to come.
So, will you be coming over to CT in '09, or anytime soon?
Wow! Congrats, I was one of the Judges for FTC the past few years in ATL and you are an amazing team I can't wait to see what you bring to FRC in 2009 best of luck!

Well reg is not open for FRC yet, or is it? My guess it will be something like 27XX.

Congrats on jumping up to FRC. With it there may come great challenges in regard to the increase in size and expense but so long as you put the same time, energy, and commitment into FRC as you did FTC you will find the rewards are nearly immeasurable.

Sadly no, Team Overdrive does not have the time or money to do both.
And lilstogi11 I was on AIM but you did not respond, but I am in bed now so ttyl.
Congratulations, Team Overdrive!
I was a referee for two events you guys competed in this year for FTC and I have thought since then you would be a great addition to the FRC community.
Let us know when you've got your team number, and please don't hesitate to contact me if you need any help- I started the FRC team I'm on right now and can help you out should y'all ever need anything.
I look forward to working with you guys!

I was lucky enough to be a referee at many of the competitions you guys attended over the last few years. I honestly have mixed feelings about this...I am happy and excited to see you guys move on to compete at the FRC level, but disappointed that I won't be a part of Tyler's "Power Cycle" process anymore :)
Good luck guys, stick with it and you will all be successful! No doubt!

I don't think Team RUSH would like that.

I think they meant more like 27xx :)
Team Overdrive,
It's great that you guys are coming over to FRC! :) Any word on whether or not you will be keeping the team name?

:D I am going to miss power cycling too (sorry the 2005 master code 3:00 min timeout scared me for life :P ).
Hope to see you next year on the FRC fields.

I sure hope we can keep the name! I don't know of any other Overdrives.
This is a big loss to the FTC program... but I wish you well as you transfer to FRC... Come to the FRC Connecticut Regional so we can chat again!

Conratuations again and good luck in Frc. We team 478 were glad to have the chance of playing you guys in edison divison last april in Atlanta. HOpe to see you guys again
Congrats! Me (355) and my sister teams (603,604) were very impressed by your performance and robot in Atlanta.
And of course , Congrats on winning the FTC World Championship this year!
Oh, and btw, the Batavia Robotics Team (our whole club, in Batavia,IL not NY) is also going to do FRC next year. The only hurdle is funding. But hopefully we will hear from our potential corporate sponsor in this or the next month. =p
Hope to see you guys again next year!
