Robot Rodeo

does anyone know anything about the 2008 robot rodeo at poiciana high school hosted by the riddler revolution?

we want to go but need to contact the team and they dont have a website

This was sent out by the main mentor of Riddler.

We would really appreciate any assistance you could give setting up and taking down the field.

We would love for your team to attend the Robot Rodeo. The date for the competition is August 23. We will be setting up on Friday August 22 in the afternoon. Yes we will need for you to bring your ball. We will be ordering pizza for lunch. We would like to take orders before the competition in order to place the order on Friday for delivery on Saturday.


If you use a mapping program such as MapQuest, the school is not difficult to find. The school has two entrances. The robot drop-off will be at the back of the school. Please use the entrance that does not have a light and follow the road around to the back. We will have signs directing you to the drop-off. Parking will be at the front of the school. Please use the entrance at the light and the student parking lot on the left.


Teams will be allowed to set up starting at 8AM and we hope to be finished by 4PM. It would be deeply appreciated if your team would plan to stay and help tear down the field on Saturday.

"Due to the inclement weather, school just starting and other factors beyond our control Team 1543 has decided to postpone Robot Rodeo until November 8th. We hope that you will attend the Rodeo on that date and look forward to having the teams come and enjoy a fun day of competition. We thank you for your interest, your offers of assistance and your participation.
We will see you in November.

Just an interesting note: this is the second time in the past 4 years the Robot Rodeo has been postponed due to hurricanes.

Now that Rodeo is later on in the year, I will see if I can get the kids to go. This isn't a confirmation that Team 1345 will be there but Suzy should receive an email from me in the next two weeks with a confirmation.

On the other hand, Mayhem happens whether there is a hurricane or tornadoes. I think Barry got the best of it back in 2005 by getting smacked by a lexan piece. That's why we call it Mayhem. :)

Me either. I've sent the mentor several emails, but no reply. I'll give her a call tomorrow if I don't heard from her.

But on the other hand, please just post replies instead of creating new threads. There have been several threads (2) on the issue and there is no need. I'm going to merge the threads now. Merged.

unfortunately at this time, team 233 is otherwise committed. we have a lego tournament to run as well as one of our team's community service project.

wow! it was so much fun! thanks to teams 801, 425 and 2757 for coming! and thanks to team 1543 for hosting it was a blast, and thanks to the scorekeepers and fou for mcing,

it was so crazy only having one blue ball( which we changed to a white ball):D


and whoever that was on 425 that was unbeatable at rock, paper scissors? we will get you next time:D


i hope we can set this up again next year and have even more attendance, and a field that dosent get strewn all over the floor(even though that just made it more fun):P


now this was an experience i will not soon forget!

oh and if anyone took pictures id love to see them!
