WPI is proud once again to be hosting our annual Savage Soccer event this fall.
Savage Soccer was developed as an inexpensive way to introduce new freshmen and sophomores on the team to what FIRST is like in a smaller scale. However, it has grown since 1995 to be an event with over 60 teams from schools all over New England and satellite events around the country.
Savage Soccer kicks off this year on October 18th, where the competition will be released. The event will be held live at WPI and webcast for everyone to view. The WPI event will be held on November 15th, 2008.
For more information, to read past years game rules, or to register a team go to http://www.wpi.edu/~savage/. Send any questions you may have to savage@wpi.edu. All you need to compete is a VEX robotics kit, a few friends, and some enthusiasm!
If you are interested in attending one of the other Savage Soccer events, you can visit http://www.wpi.edu/~savage for more information on dates, locations, costs, etc.
We always welcome new Savage Soccer events throughout the world. If you are interested in hosting an event, please contact us! It is not required that you follow our exact schedule, but if you wish to, field drawings and rules will be available one week prior to kickoff. Savage Soccer events are a great way to promote robotics in your area, provide kids with a hands-on learning opportunity, and even raise funds for your FIRST, VEX, or other robotics team!
PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL VEX or FTC EVENT!
