Does anyone know where to get the proper pucks for FTC? I can not find any that are 2.3 ounces like they say they weigh.

sports authority or any store that has street hockey stuff. go by brand,
not weight.

You should be able to get them at Canadian Tire, Sport Chek, maybe even home depot. You're just looking for the plastic pucks for road hockey ont the regular 6oz pucks that are used for ice hockey.

Moved this thread to the FTC forum, where it might fare better.

You may have success at www.thestreethockeyshop.com. They come in packs of 6.

Before you go buying pucks read this!!!

I attended the FIRST Tech Challenge Road Show this weekend and got the official word on the official pucks.

FIRST has commissioned Mylec to make red and blue pucks for the game, these will be available for purchase from Logoloc soon. The Franklin pucks are no longer the proper pucks, they are lighter and have a slightly different shape from the Mylec ones. I suppose you could use them for practice, but the might perform differently than the Mylec ones.

Hope this clears things up for folks.

nice to know, but my team is trying something that would require the "correct" game pieces to see if it will work. Any idea when we can get our hand on these? Our only Regional is less than 2 months away.

We looked at the local Walmart and did not find any hockey equipment at all! :yikes:

Hm...So they're getting red and blue directly from Mylec?

Last year, we got in trouble at regional because the paint on the rings was brushing off on our metal and was messing up our manipulator. I hope this problem is prevented this year.

2 months away? Which tournament is that?

It's disappointing to find that our only tournament is less than two months away and we still can't buy critical components necessary for our robots.
