View Full Version : supershifter question
are cad program, we use autocad will not open the andymark files for the supershifter. (or any other drawings on his website) I was wondering if anyone knows where the center of the output shaft is, in relation to the screw holes for mounting it. If you could just tell us how far it is over, in the X axis, and how far up it is, in the Y axis. thanks
I've been having problems with their download files too lately. Figured it was just me. Guess not. I don't have a computer in front of me with CAD on it, but I know that http://firstcadlibrary.com/ has a model of the supershifter. It is in the "motors" directory.

Andymark's webpage for the supershifter contains assembly instructions in .pdf format. Those instructions contain many of the dimensions you seek, and many more you'll find useful. If I remember correctly, the side plate is 5x5", and the output shaft is 1/2" in diameter and is 1.5" away from two of the sides (i.e. it's not symmetric). The mounting holes are 4.376" (4 3/8") apart from each other and form a perfect square centered on the side plate.
Due to the nature of these dimensions, I'd recommend that you not CAD the output shaft hole in relation to the mounting holes. Rather, CAD both in relation to a reference point on your drawing, such as the edge of the metal you're mounting it on.
