Can anyone please guide me on the "proper" RobotC template for this season. I haven't been able to find the template that will allow the robot to interact with the controller stations at the tournaments.

gdo, we're all waiting for the template, FIRST will be sending out official templates for all programming platforms soon. I was told it would be last week, but I haven't heard anything from them. My suggestions would be either 1. wait
2. Contact FIRST and try to find out when the templates will be sent out.

Okay, I thought it was out, thank you very much, I was just curious as we are attending a scrimage this weekend and I wanted to what I should do. I'll just write operator code for now I guess.

I would bug FIRST and ask when they're going to get the template out.

Sorry, we are not currently planning on it, but we are looking for a second tournament to attend, we will certainly discuss it at our next meeting.

Oh no, Ramp Riot is an FTC scrimmage this weekend. I was wondering if that was the scrimmage that you were going to.

:D, We'll not be attending for a few reasons.

1. Our robot is no where close to being done. Currently meetings have been put on Hiatus until we get more parts. :D.

2. Our team REALLY doesn't like to travel. We barely wanted to go to NC, and I think Pennsylvania is out of the question. :D.

But, Monty if you're going, take lots of pics for us. :D.

About the same here Monty. We were in Connecticut to run a scrimmage and compete. Our robot only drove (the servos don't have enough torque to do what we want, so a redesign is in the works), though we are working hard to get it working now.

I can't wait to see pics though, the scrimmage in Connecticut was very interesting, we'll post the pictures from there ASAP on our site, can't wait to see what your teams came up with Monty!

Hm...weak servos eh? Uh, i'm not sure if you've already thought of this, but have you tried using rubber bands to lessen the tension on the servos? or use a winch attached to a LEGO motor?

I don't think redesigning because servos are too weak is a good idea...unless the design overall wasn't as strong as you wanted it to be.

it has its positives and negatives. one of the negatives was a sense of overcomplexity :p. I was thinking a simpler design would be nicer rather than a complicated design.

That's always true. :D.

That's always true. :D.

Yeah, but it doesn't really fit into my designs of years past :p. I guess without the Gear shifter, I can't really make a complicated design.
