I should start off by saying we are running Labview. We have written a simple tank drive program to test with. Our problem is, the only way to run the program, is to have a laptop connected to the driver station and click, "run" in the main .vi window. Otherwise the program never runs, it just sits there. Is there a way to have the program run without having to have a laptop connected?
Thanks

Did you set it to run at startup when you deployed the standalone application?
Full instructions for deploying a standalone application can be found on Page 14 of this document:

open a FRC project in labVIEW.
Right click on "build specifications"
select "stand alone application"

Yep, that is it. We did have our real-time application set to run at startup, but we were not waiting long enough. We had to set it as startup, and let the computer sit for a while (several minutes) and let it reboot. Note: do not click, "stop waiting and disconnect", just WAIT.

How long are we supposed to wait? I've followed the instructions listed above, but when I "Ran as Startup" it gave me the box of "Waiting for real-time target" and that was 30 minutes ago. What am I missing?:(

Never mind. I must have missed the part where we were supposed to change the IP in the 'Target' line of the Project Explore window. Oops! :o
