View Full Version : I quick and easy way to get FIRST media attention: Digg

As a passive Digg reader and an avid news junkie, it has become obvious that many smaller news outlets, especially talk radio, podcasts, and local news get a fair portion of their stories from www.digg.com.

It is obvious this is not a correlational issue because of the digg delay, where stories take some time to make it to the front page, headlines are often read word for word, etc.

Since I know many of you already have digg accounts, I implore you to do a small favor for FIRST and head on over to digg and digg up some of the recent kickoff stories. If you don't already have an account, they're easy to sign up for. As few as 50 of us digging a story is enough to get it snowballed to the front page. I know when people see the true spirit of FIRST, the cultural shift from entertainment and drama to science and engineering, it will be a message that spreads rapidly.

I always digg FIRST stuff. The last FIRST related story I dugg had 40 or so diggs.

I like this idea a lot. Could you post any recent FIRST new stories so I can read and dig them because my search turned up very little and all of it from at least a year ago. I might just be doing something wrong though.
