Car Nack Predicts
All this conversation about using hovercraft, fans, ducted fans, propellers, etc. is for naught, because everyone knows there is no atmosphere on the Moon.
Car Nack has spoken.

Well, if any air-moving robots show up at St. Louis then we'll have to send them over to Car Nack's pit. For special inspection. ;)

I leave Chief Delphi for a few hours of work and Car Nack speaks. Wouldn't you know it? The power, oh, the power of the moment.

What is this work you speak of?
What great timing! Some of our team members were having this discussion as well!
May our sense of humor continue to prevail throughout the whole build season and beyond!

Once again, it is demonstrated that Car Nack is wise. We should listen to Car Nack, for insightful is he that can see through the fog of confusion and discern the clarity of vacuum.

I'm sorry, Car Nack, but I think you got this one wrong:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atmosphere_of_the_Moon
Specifically, ~8x10^4 total atoms per cubic centimeter. Of course, one would need quite a fan to do anything with that :yikes:
What about static electricity? There should be plenty of that on the field, so that was our entire game plan ><
The power draw of a hovercraft would be so great that your robot would die before the match even started
