View Full Version : cRIO wont save program
I have tried many times to save the control system to the cRIO but it won't save into the cRIO, it only works with the laptop. I want to work the robot without the laptop and control it. I have been using the basic framework. Would mass comping make any sense or using the advance framework?
Also would it be possible to use Laptop WiFi to router with out Ethernet cable?

This is a poorly publicized, but known bug with the basic robot project. You can run it in debug mode, but cannot build it to the cRIO. We struggled with it for days before finding a brief mention of the bug deep in th NI forums. It is suppose to be fixed in the next update.

The only bug related to this has already been addressed in both LVFRCUpdate1.0 and 2.0. I am assuming the real issue here is a misunderstanding of how to build and deploy a startup executable to the cRIO.
Have you installed the latest update?

Wait, there is no bug with latest update? I get an error (I think it was error 6) whenever I try to build. I searched on the NI forum, found a question with the exact same error I got, and an answer stating that this is a known bug. Yes we have re-imaged with the latest version. As for how I am attempting to build, I am right clicking on the expanded project manger build icon, and saying "build". It sits for a minute or so, then responds with an error. (forgive my memory, I haven't looked at it in a week or so, and don't access to it at the moment)

The known issue with building applications has already been fixed in the updates. If you are still using the same project though, the error will persist on your system. You should be able to get a working application be either creating a new project through the wizard on the Getting Started Window, or by deleting the build spec and then right clicking "Build Specifications" selecting New -> Real-Time Application and manually setting "Basic Robot Main.vi" to be the Startup VI in the "Source Files" section of the pop-up window.

Please note that in the programming guide that we have, it leaves this step out:
Application and manually setting "Basic Robot Main.vi" to be the Startup VI in the "Source Files" section of the pop-up window.
10 minutes of my life I'll never get back :P
