Hi,
Our team just received the cRIO in our kit of parts on kickoff. We were wondering if we still need to update the firmware on the cRIO and the ds, or if it would have been updated before we received it. Thanks for your help!

You need to update them yourself. Nobody will have done it for you. They almost certainly still have the factory-loaded software image on them.

Emily,
Your team should start by following the step by step instructions outlined in Chapter 1 here (http://usfirst.org/community/frc/content.aspx?id=10934). This "acceptance test" requires the factory software. Please do this before you attempt any software upgrades.
As you proceed, you will very likely encounter problems. Have a team member search these fori to help you solve your issues. With over 1800 teams all using a new control system, I can almost guarantee that any issue you may have has already been experienced by others.

Mike

Can someone tell me how to update the cRIO? Because we cannot even find the file for the update. Where is it at?

Both the update and instructions are in the "Software Updates" section at:

Well noted. We are aware of that but are unaware of how to obtain a new cRIO image. We need FRC_2009_V2 or above for the cRIO update. We currently only have V1.

Same place.
The cRIO image V7 comes as part of the "LabVIEW FRC software update (http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/lang/en/id/1180)" -- LabVIEW Update 2
When you install, the update V7 appears in the FRC cRIO Imaging Tool choices.

okay so we have managed to find v7 but still have a problem. the imaging tool starts off okay but after 40 seconds or so it says "The specified IP address is unreachable. Ensure that the IP address is on the correct subnet."
Thanks for your help!
