We got the whole BenchTest to work, upgraded the firmware on the Driver Station, and installed WindRiver, got it registered, all that. But whenever we click the FIRST menu, and download, to download the program to the Driver Station, an error pops up, saying "Unable to connect to robot using IP:10.xx.yy.2:21 does anyone know if it's because we are missing an update, or something? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
i think upgraded the firmware on the Driver Station by flash disk !!
and the CRIO upgraded by FRC cRIO Imaging Tool ....
read the manual .... i am sure it could help you if u read everything:)

Well, we are sure the Driver Station update was done successfully with a flash drive, but we havent yet done the cRIO imaging update. We haven't done it yet because we don't see why that would be the cause to our problems. We have troubles downloading a program from WindRiver to the Driver Station. The cRIO thing should come later, when trying to perform the program. If I'm wrong, then please say so, we'll give that a shot. thanks :)
what is ur problem ?
is it in deploying the program by windriver ... or upgrading the crio by crio imaging tools ....
i am sorry becuase my english is not good ... so i couldn't understood everything u wrote...
explain ur problem maybe i can help

AFAIK, the DS runs Linux and I don't think you could load an Linux application to it.
In any event, loading a vxWorks application to it doesn't make sense, even if you could do it.

Whether or not the old cRIO image is causing your specific problem, you must update it. The OTB image is not compatible with the upgraded DS firmware.
The error you describe could be caused by firewall software on your computer preventing connections on the FTP data port. Try disabling the Windows firewall?

Our problem is that using WindRiver, we made a program for basic operation of the robot. We connected the DriverStation to our PC via ethernet cable, set our IP to 10.13.61.6, and tried to download the WindRiver Program to the Driver Station. After a few seconds of the PC trying to download this program, an error message pops up, and when i click 'Details' to find out what is wrong, it says, "unable to connect to robot using the IP: 10.13.61.2:21 We don't know why it's like that. We've downloaded all the C++ updates, the DriverStation Firmware update, everything we can find, and still don't know why it will not download the program to the DriverStation.
A good thing to start with is to see if you can ping the cRIO from your laptop. Go to Start/Run/cmd, and type ping 10.xx.yy.2 (insert your team number). If it doesn't respond, something's wrong with your cables, or router, etc. If it does respond but you still get the error, then your laptop might be blocking Port 21. Disable all firewalls..

BTW, where do I find the cRIO Imaging Tool? We are trying to update it, found the instructions, but don't know where to get the tool itself lol. thanks
It should be automatically installed with the labview installation (DVD #1). Even if you only plan to use C/C++, I recommend installing *all* of the software..
if you have labview ... then go to start menu >> all programs>> National Instruments>>> LabVIEW 8.5 >> FRC cRIO Imaging Tool
