We are using Labview with limited success. Can we start a poll to see who is using Labview, C++/Windriver?
Also, any Wisconsin based teams using Labview. We would like to share thoughts/training/ideas with you.

Team 2549 will be using LabView and feel weeks ahead of last year as we have successfully attached new controller and programmed last year's robot to drive. We hosted 4 LabView training sessions in the Twin Cities metro in November/December for metro teams in conjunction with Team 2129 UltraViolet from South West High School in Minneapolis.

Its all about the C++ I stopped using paint for anything legit about 10 years ago. In all seriousness, you really can do a lot more in windriver then the NI guys say you can, one of them was kind enough to tell me that you cant do as much debugging in windriver which is dead wrong, it is the other way around. Windriver just takes some time to get use to, once you get to know eclipse, everything is a few keystrokes away.
Team 2557 will be using Labview. 10 cent donations welcome.

Team 2090 -- I want to use C++ but a lot of other people on the team want me to use Labview. I'm the one programming though so I'll decide in the end, for the moment I'm using Labview with little success and a lot of frustration. I think Eclipse is better.

The new Wind River update actually allows you to write C++ code that outputs to the LabVIEW dashboard project. This way, you have the complete versatility of C++ and the rapid and graphical debugging allowed by LabVIEW.
We are having large amounts of success in C++, and already have a working implementation using multiple tasks and a buffering system we created. Many thanks to the people at WPI for the critical region/mutex support.

LabView for it probing abilities, no longer will the construction team have the miss conception that programming might be wrong, simply stick a probe and verify that the code in fact is working (In Real Time). Thoroughly proving the hardware is non-functional.

The programming is still wrong, it didn't compensate for the mechanical failure.

1444 hasn't decided yet, but it looks to me like Win Driver (thanks 1483 =]) will probably be our choice. Mostly because both our programming mentor and I are more familiar with OOP and C-style syntax than LabView.

Cross posting from the poll thread...
Team 1318 is using LabVIEW. Though we have three veterans, all seasoned C programmers, we are all seniors and must pass on our knowledge. The new programmers have a range of programming experience and we thought it easier to teach them LabVIEW. In addition, LabVIEW is a little *too* attractive. Its debugging capabilities are impressive, with the ability to "probe wires" or look at/manipulate values on our front panel or whatnot. (though I have heard that C++ is now capable of working with the Dashboard...) Under other circumstances, I would have used C++, but we will use LabVIEW and see how it goes...
