Ok, so I set up this site because sometimes it is better to see the general trend toward something is in a chat room rather than in a forum(that's probaly just me though). I may later add chat's for FLL, FTC, and VRC guaging on the reaction of FRC to this. The site is http://frc-chat.webs.com/ but it is designed so that you can add the chatroom & user count to your site. The code to do that is: <script language='Javascript' src='http://www.jstracker.com/track-http://www.freewebs.com/programm/-language-1'></script><noscript><a href='http://www.jstracker.com/?aff_id=10399' target=_blank>Online Counter</a></noscript><script type="text/javascript" src="http://link.members.freewebs.com/JS/checkLogin.jsp"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://images.freewebs.com/JS/prototype.lite.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://images.freewebs.com/JS/moo.fx.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://images.freewebs.com/JS/jjax.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://images.freewebs.com/JS/fw.shoutbox.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://link.members.freewebs.com/Members/Comments/loadShoutBoxJS.jsp?shoutBoxOwnerID=30479105&listID=12065974&skinName=dark&width=384&height=400"></script>. Please ask questions or comments.

I don't think .webs is a valid Top Level Domain. It is not listed on Wikipedia's list of TLDs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Internet_top-level_domains). Are you sure you have that URL right?

Nevermind :)

It is a freewebs URL. webs.com "frc-chat" is the "account" acting as a sub domain. I've seem a couple team sites "Teamxxx.webs.com"

It's right below the coffe cup.

This is what's below the coffee cup:

Welcome

This is a chat room for FRC.4 users online

Is it because I'm running Vista?

I don't think so because the same thing is happining to me on windows 2000, which is odd because I didn't change anything and it was working right before that on both places I have the code running.... hold on.

Sorry I broke your chatroom, man.

This is JUST like the thing with the 4-wheeler. My uncle was driving it around, he gets off, lets me on, and poof, the thing won't start.

It's fine. I found a couple of bugs but they're fixed now and it should work.

Ok, good.

I'm assuming everyone else isn't having problems, right?

You should get someone to put the chat on CD, if only as an experiment.

That's not a bad idea. Now who to contact.....

There's a FIRST IRC chat on the freenode servers.
IRC info: irc.freenode.net #firstrobotics

If you don't have an IRC program, you can use the java client on the freenode page. http://java.freenode.net/
Enter firstrobotics as the channel and you should be in.

You might try the "contact us" button at the bottom of the page, or maybe go to the forums page and down near the bottom where it has "ChiefDelphi.com Website" and try something there. Maybe.

They're not going to do it because at one time, there was a chat on CD but it got abused and was difficult to monitor, so they removed it.

How are you supposed to regulate who is on it? I asked a simple question; Where can I buy extra van door motors and i got this enclosed reply. By the way, can anyone tell me where I can buy extra van door motors?

When I have time(read: post-season) I'm probaly going to add a registration for it.

Also reading these latest comments I would like to remind everyone of gracious profesionalsim(spelling error, I know).

Reminding is nice, but not everyone will follow it.

The IRC room is readily available to those who wish to use it, until your room has some administration on it. It's easy to embed and somewhat customize for your website. It might get too far out-of-hand before then.

Otherwise, it's a good job, keep it up.

bobwrit, just say its beta or prototypical and no one can get on your case.

Ok, So I've made the chat larger to facilitate larger responses as well as made it a bit more customizable. The new code for it is <script language='Javascript' src='http://www.jstracker.com/track-http://www.freewebs.com/programm/-language-1'></script><script type="text/javascript" src="http://link.members.freewebs.com/JS/checkLogin.jsp"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://images.freewebs.com/JS/prototype.lite.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://images.freewebs.com/JS/moo.fx.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://images.freewebs.com/JS/jjax.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://images.freewebs.com/JS/fw.shoutbox.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://link.members.freewebs.com/Members/Comments/loadShoutBoxJS.jsp?shoutBoxOwnerID=30479105&listID=12065974&skinName=dark&width=450&height=600"></script>

If you look at the atributes of the last script tag you'll see a place to change the width, hight, and color.
