Does anyone have alot of pneumatics on thier robot for the 2009 games? Our team dosent really have much, at first we had nothing. Thats why I really disliked the game at first... Im only pneumatics and there was none lol... :P

No air this year. We always had Pneumatics in the past, but, as a rule of thumb, if you do not have more than one thing to do with pneumatics, then the weight factor makes it logical to try to figure out how to use electric motors. This is our fourth year, but our first without all the tubes and guages. Kind of sad. :(
This is the first time in three years we will be without pneumatics. Last year we only had two motors on the entire robot.
I hope our sponsor (a pneumatics company) doesn't mind.

A team I (indirectly) work with has at least 4 cylinders this year. Pretty cool mechanism.
5 cyllinders, all short stroke with 3/4" bore. Woohoo for the low mu!
Not us a 15 lbs start up is not worth and I love pwnmatics.

4 cylinders. yea i guess you can say we have a lot of pneumatics :D and i get to code them :D
My team is using pneumatics for the first time (our second year alone!) and has 5 cylinders.
A decent amount of weight, but for our strategy this year, it becomes necessary.

No pneumatics ftw imo. Just kidding they are pretty useful. We usually have at least some but found no use for them on our robot this year.

Since we predicted we'll be severely underweight (going from all steel last year to all aluminum this year, what a difference!), we are developing with both pneumatics and motors,... and both systems will most likely end up on our competition robot.
