We are having a problem with setting up. We did the update and held the down button after for a while, and it still didn't work, so we unplugged it, and re-plugged it in, and waited 2 min b4 doing anything, and tried again, but we were unsuccesful, then we discoverd are dongle switch won't switch from enabled to disabled. What do we do to fix this, can we reset completly? Any suggestions?

So I'm guessing you can't set your team number on the DS?
What is displayed on the DS screen on the bottom line?

As far as the dongle goes - does the DS screen say "Enabled?"
And you can't get it to say "Disabled?" Even when you completely disconnect the dongle from the Ds altogether?

I don't have the DS with me at the moment so as soon as I get my hands on it I can type up what it is giving me, but I know for sure about the dongle, when you disconnect it and you flip it up (enabled) and plug it in it will say enabled, but the motors don't run, and when you flip the switch down(disabled), without unplugging it in, the DS still says enabled. When you unhook it, and re-hook it with the switch down it says disabled, but when the you try flipping the switch up it doesn't say enabled, and the motors don't work in this case either. If you need to know the DS screen, and what it is saying to fix this problem too, just look here tomorrow, and I will have it up.

The dongle problem is probably just a fault in that little switch on it.
If you have a multi-meter try testing the pins while you flip the switch to see if it's operating properly.

The motors not running is probably a separate problem.

How far did you get in your setup?
Did you bench test the control system?
After that did you reflash the cRIO and the Driver Station?
Were you able to set your team number on the DS?
Is your DS plugged directly into the cRIO with an ethernet cable or are you using the wireless?
Has the wireless router/bridge been setup?

We have it all up except the team number thing.
We tested the entire control system, motors, and everything worked, up until the point where we tried to change the team number
I'll see tomorrow
Direct link with ethernet cable to cRIO
wireless has been setup

Okay this is what the display says on the DS:

Team : 0000
Mode : Teleoperated
System : Enabled
Battery: No Comms
DS Rev: 2008-10-29a

Right now the dongle switch is up though, if I restart it with it down instead of enabled it wil say disabled, so is there any other info you need, or what is the problem? TY For all the help!:]

On the DS push and hold the "up" arrow button for what seems like a minute.
