Hi!

Our team successfully installed Wind River on 2 laptops (Dell Latitudes) but when trying to install a 3rd copy onto an IBM Thinkpad, the installer wont even start. It gives an error telling the user to access a log located in C:\Documents And Settings\Admin\.wrinstall-12\, but the directory is inaccessible. Now the laptop has been checked for sufficient space, and the content related to Wind river from the first CD provided with the KOP has been successfully installed. As the laptop stands it has about 6GBs of free space, 2GBs of RAM, and runs WinXP Pro. We tried launching the setup directly from the CD as the AutoRun does not activate from the setup.exe and the setup.bat but the same error comes up. We also tried to continue the instllation from the first CD to the second, but the same error comes up. We did notice that there was a C;\Windriver\ folder that was created by the installation processes from the first CD but that just contains documentation and such. If anyone has a suggestion, any help at all is greatly appreciated.

I assume you have administrator privileges on the Thinkpad?
It could be something blocking it on the laptop, such as, an anti-virus program.

It could be the install disk needs to be cleaned.
You might test the second install disk, even if you aren't planning on using Wind River it could give some useful information and help isolate the trouble you're having with Disk 1.

Hello, thank you very much for your suggestions. It seems that I have administrator access of the account I was using named "Admin", but my problem was resolved after I forcefully logged off my current account and installed the software using the account specifically called "Administrator."

Hope this helps someone else avoid a couple of hours of frustration.
