So I am working on making a play list of music to play at the competitions from our pit. The songs we plan on playing are going to be up beat, so if anyone has any idea of other up beat songs that would be nice. (techno accepted, but Sailor Moon doesn't cut it)

sandstorm definitely...
I could give a few Japanese artists, but no one likes that kind of music.

Be wary to keep your volume down, and to respect the teams working next to you. With the amount of noise on the field already, I know I personally wouldn't want to come back to my pit and have to endure the music choices of another.

So as long as you check with the teams near you, and don't get shut down by the Pit Admins (like we did a couple years ago), more power to you!

EDIT: To keep this on topic, here are my suggestions:
-Slam by Pendulum
-Paper Planes by MIA
-Click Click Boom by Saliva
-Painkiller by Pendulum
-Undead by Hollywood Undead
-Most Flogging Molly songs

(also, this being from an audiophile: Make sure there's bass! Nothing is worse than listening to a high pitched garbled stream of noise coming from someone's laptop speakers. If it doesn't kick you in the chest when the drummer hits the kick, something's wrong!)

Leva's Polka- by: Basshunter- Amazingly upbeat especially towards the middle.
Sandstorm- by: Daruda- Good upbeat......beat....:o
Operation Ground and Pound- Really upbeat! Still trying to beat it on GH3!! :yikes:

Also: PLEASE NO SANDSTORM!

It's been WAY overplayed, to the point that it's almost painful to hear... (That and it's not exactly the most amazing song anyway...)

3.17, 12th bullet, allows the Pit Admin to do this. And when Craig says "shut down", he means it. They can shut down your pit's power or confiscate the music. Same goes for music on carts--don't have it there, either. Keep it to about the noise of a handheld power tool or lower and you should be fine.

Rock and Roll part 2 by Gary Glitter ;)

When this song came out in the 70's I thought it was great. Everyone else thought I was weird. Now in the last 20 years it must be the most played song in any sports arena.

I heard that you are not allowed to play songs in the pits.
No, you are allowed to, or rather it is not disallowed. However, you can't do it from the cart, and you have to keep it down to a level such that you and everyone around you can hear the pit announcements.

Oh, you can't play from your cart anymore. Personally, I'm happy we don't have to bother with speakers, but the rest of the pit crew will be disappointed in hearing they have no speakers on their cart...O well.

As far as song suggestions, I gotta say it, only cuz it's kind of a tradition in our team:
Never Gonna Give You Up - Rick Astley

-Sravan

P.S - If you go to NJ, Philly or Conn. Regional, find Cougar Robotics Team 1403, if you have that song. We'll sing for you.

Play what ever you want but the fact is the whole venue will be so loud that you most likely wont hear a thing. Enjoy the competition music. It will get you pumped up plenty well enough.

Upbeat... like Flight of the Bumble Bee? or the William Tell Overture? or The Washington Post? or Copeland's Rodeo? or the theme from the Lost in Space movie? or the Jetsons theme? or the drum solo from Ina-Gadda-Da-Vida? or ... ?

Diversity is good. ;)

I think in the past the DJs had an approved list of songs that could be played at an event; you might want to look at that list. You wouldn't want to offend anyone. If a song can't be played on the radio, it probably shouldn't be played in the pits.

There is only one song that ever gets me excited, and it is The Final Countdown by Europe. After I hear that song, I could run a marathon, beat Michael Phelps in the 200M Butterfly, fight 10 men and compete in a robotics competition. They could just play that song on repeat and I might just explode from having so much adrenaline.

If you want a good song get to a high action part in any videogame, then listen. Guaranteed to be an upbeat song, game designers pick songs like that to enhance the excitement and get the player pumped up.

Other note try "zombie nation" it's techno
