Ok, don't use .tk for your domain. Get a .com/.org please. It's not that expensive. But if you are going to use one, use co.cc. Just a quick suggestion :D

Could use better navigation.

This is the kind of comment you don't want to hear, as navigation is usually an essential part of the site design.

There are 3 different navigations, and neither of them seem to take precedence (a.k.a. focus) over one another. This, in effect, makes understanding the page difficult, because it means there's nothing on the page to start or focus at.

You could probably solve this by combining "about our team" and "main index" into the top menu bar as submenus that pop out.

why? its just a domain extension, you can view it just like the common domain extensions. Honestly i would just keep it, especially since you already have it registered.

Now for the site, it looks pretty good. the only real problems is see with it is the colors are all pretty close to each other so they don't contrast. Its a little hard read because when you first look at it you don't get a sence of content-navigation contrast. I suggest using darker colors for your different layout schemes.

Also there is a lot of div layout inconsistencies, like your intro splash page is aligned to the right and your banner on the main page is set to left. You probably don't notice it because you have a smaller resolution then some of us, you wouldn't notice this error on a 1024x768 resolution but i do on my 1680x1050. There are many of these type of inconsistencies through out the site. I would suggest setting all the css styles to something like...

position:absolute;
margin-left:-450px;
left:50%;
width:900px;

the width would obviously be what ever the width for that div tag is, also the margin-left is just half the width but negative. This will set it to exactly center on the screen.

I also would suggest going more conventional with your navigation, you have 2 main navigation bars and they are a little hard to follow. I would suggest using either or, for this template might be best to just use the left navbar instead

Also it might be better to have your banner that's on the main page be on the front splash page and then become static [ie not flash] on the main page, that way it wont replay on each page.

That's about all i see for the moment.

In your flash animation for FIRST the word Recognition is spelled wrong.

Keep up the good work though, looks good!

Its an intro page completely neccessary? Its a noisance to click-through.

Kitmor

In general I would say it has too much flash animation, but that is just my personal opinion. Other than that though, it looks pretty good.

The only thing that I would worry about is the FIRST logo standards (http://usfirst.org/uploadedFiles/Community/FRC/FRC_Communications_Resource_Center/Communication_Assets/FIRSTlogoStandards_Comprehensive.pdf).
I don't know how much emphasis the judges put on correct usage of the FIRST logo, but on the intro page especially it would seem that the standards have been violated. I don't know how much you can do, because it seems that the modified version is pretty integral to your design, but I thought I would let you know.

Also I believe the FIRST trademark is always supposed to be italicized, though I couldn't find anything specifically saying that anymore. So I could be wrong about that.

I'm not trying to criticize your website, I just don't want you to by surprised by the rules.

thank you alaa for ur replaying..
i just wanna say again... we are going to change the domain name to .org but we submitted the old domain in the firstawards.org
so how we can change it ? if we send a message to the adminstrator to this site ... can he change it ?
please answer me

People always bring that up, and it was even debated once, but I really don't think there are any specific rules for it. It's sort of an unwritten rule, I guess. I know teams have won in the past without the italicization.

EDIT: No, you cannot change your URL that you submitted to FIRST Awards after you send it in. I don't see what's wrong with your current one, though, unless somebody's school blocks it. Are you changing it to .org, or just adding it on with your current one?

mmm... we wanna solve it by:
using a page that when we Enter the website by:WWW.TAMRA-AFR.TK
it will take you to WWW.TAMRA-AFR.ORG
is it allowed??

Yes. I would believe so. The rules state that as long as the web site is accessible at the time of judging that it will be judged. A redirect from your original domain name to your new one does that. We did this about two years ago from our old domain name. Start telling everyone that it is .org now and use that domain on printed items. Since both domain names go to the same web site.

As for the redirect, your domain provider sometimes has that option to use it as a redirect. Or, you can use an htaccess file. There are many options. Google domain redirect and you should find one you are comfortable with.

I would highly recommend using .htaccess method, since it's search-engine-friendly, and is the fastest. Like Trey said, Google it to find out more information. There's a plethora of information available online. :)

Intro page is cool but i'm also worried about the FIRST logo rules. You can't mess with the logo or have thing right beside it.

I don't like how the labVIEW page is taken from wikipedia. take the time to write one yourself.
sponsors page- make their name a link as well as the image

good advise for general site: ALL images NEED to have alt tags.
Under your <noframes> make some text that says what the supported browser of your site are.

If you go to your website and let it all load up, after a about 5- 10 seconds it will automatically take you to your home page. Is this supposed to happen??

lleeisonline

The very first thing I noticed - I've got this horizontal scroll bar that just goes on forever... and there's nothing but white space there. [I'm using Firefox 3.0.6, by the way]
The second is that it takes a while for the homepage to load, and others as well - I'm pretty sure it's that "Robot 2008 Pictures". It's really neat, but image heavy.

But otherwise, nice job!

You seem very eager to improve your website, so i guess I'll provide a (possibly harsh) list of improvements you can undertake. Note that these are only improvements in my eyes, and may not be to everyone's taste.

Your intro page (with the flash banner):

Everything is everywhere. Your logo is justified left, everything else is justified center. Try justifying your logo center.

Rest of site:

Your top scrolling bar is being clipped off by the header. I'm using Firefox.
The the links box, try the text without a background (try it elsewhere too). You may find it looks neater.
Also, FIRST is capitalized and Robotics needs an S
The FIRST logo is really small in the links box, it's also distorted in the middle image on the home page. They don't like that very much.
In your top navigation, you have images next to words. This is not preferred because the length of the words changes the position of the images, making them untidy. I suggest adding a line break immediately after the images and placing the hyperlink on the next line. Also, home page should be the first thing on the list, not the last, since it is the first place visited.
The same images/words things applies to the right navigation. I still don't understand why you need 5 navigations (top bar, the next one below, Main Index, Our Team, and Lunacy Game), after all 1 can serve just as well.
Images in your navigation can benefit from being transparent in areas that are white, to better blend in with the background.

That's all for the moment. Remember that simpler is often better!
