What really caused US Airways Flight 1549 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/US_Airways_Flight_1549) to crash into the Hudson River.

Team 494's fan design begun morphing into this following a GDC ruling that the edges of blades must be covered in six inch segments of bumper.

A "Major" overdesign of 494's propulsion system. But then, they were thinking of the Martian atmosphere.

Al Skierkiewicz

Ok guys, I can understand that you need to prototype a design before you put it on your robot but... Most teams will do a miniature to check their hypothesis, how are you going to reduce THAT to fit inside the sizing box? Al Skierkiewicz will go ballistic if you show up and try, you know how hard an inspector he is!

There's nothing to fear when the pilot is Chesley B. Sullenberger the Third (http://prairiehome.publicradio.org/programs/2009/01/17/scripts/pilot.shtml).

Purdue grad!

Next time on FOX's new smash hit TV show "Honey I Shrunk The FIRST Team"; the team goes on a wild quest through a KOP muffin fan!
Will they survive, or will they be blown away?
Tune in next week & find out!

Mentor:Yes that will get us to the Championship, but you still have to work on the robot to get us qualified.

A certain blonde talent show judge after reliving a not-so-distance memory (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showpost.php?p=636422&postcount=9):

If they bring that thing to IRI, I'm going under the table.

494's group therapy session was a huge success when all the Martians with inferiority complexes discovered something that sucked more than they thought they did.

Enigma's puzzle
01-02-2009, 17:28
We sent the CAD-ed fan propulsion blades to the machine shop we must have forgot to change the scaling, we wanted one inch not one yard.
