Does any one know how to seperate the globe motor from the gearbox...
This has baffled the Game Mech Dept for awhile now, and its getting a little late, so some of the members just want to throw it at a wall and see what happens...

Anyone who can help
Thanks

I believe it involves getting a punch and tapping in the little roll pins around the gearbox/motor interface. Tapping them inward will allow you to remove the motor. After this, take out the roll pins, do your mods, reassemble the components, then tap the roll pins back in.

Did this the other day.

Remove snap ring on shaft.

Tap roll pins INTO gearbox.

Use chisel/flathead screwdriver to GENTLY tap the gearbox apart from the motor.

The end.

There are three spiral spring pins inserted into holes around the circumference of the gearbox, near to the motor. Each is about Ø0.093 in, and 0.188 in long, if I remember correctly. Using a small punch (or even the back end of a small drill bit in a drill press), press each of the pins into the gearbox. It should then come off easily, and the shaft and planet carriers will come out.

You're probably not going to like the motor pinion that you find inside, though. I'm not sure exactly what it is, but it's got very small teeth.

you don't actually need to remove the c-clip on the output shaft when removing the gearbox - just tap in the set pins on the sides and pull the gearbox off. The pins push in quite a ways - over 1/8" for sure.

we just put one back together that was taken apart earlier - not too difficult once you figure it out.

What do you plan on doing? Are you going to remove the last stage? Doing so gets the speed up to 450 rpms.
