Wow, looks like you guys have a great robot - I like the design, looks similar to something I saw at the Pennsylvania Ramp Riot.

I'm looking forward to competing with and/or against you guys at the NJ tournament :-D

Awesome robot, Rhode Rage!! Congratulations to all the NJ FTC winning teams!
I was volunteering at the NJ competition and enjoyed it a lot!
People from team 121 may remember me as the annoying girl trying to cue you for the match right after the one where your robot's arm broke. :) Just out of curiosity, I was wondering how it broke.

thanks,
Scoutin' Master

umm i think our arm broke due to us trying to raise the arm while another robot was covering it, we basically spun the split clamps around the axles a few times. It was not the first time we have done that, but it was a pretty major setback.

Yeah a combination of the weight of our arm while full with pucks and resistance from another robot on top of our arm while we tried to lift it ruined the split clamps that attached the gears to the axle. There was too much torque going from the motors to the arm while it was powered that the split clamps just could not hold. They broke a few times, and a great thanks to Team 18 for selling us two split clamps just before one of our matches that probably saved us. We need to figure out a better, more reliable method for raising our arm so we don't keep running into this problem.

Please don't think you were annoying. The fact the the other team covered our arm to prevent us from scoring rather than try to get in our way or push us (which is why the arm broke), put me in a bad mood. So I apologize for anything I may have said, or any tone I may have had. You were actually extremely sensitive and empathetic to our situation, more so than most.

And as my kids have said, if not for you and your patience, and the other teams that provided us with tools and parts, we would not have performed as well as we did.

Thank you all
