Looking good.
Is that Alex's voiceover in the first video, telling you not to do something stupid?
A "been in FIRST too long" moment, if you can ID the voice behind the camera.

Looks like a fun drive train.
Are you going to support the drive modules anymore than that? They don't look like they'd be able to withstand a large side load. (Pushed Sideways on Carpet edge)
Looking good.

That sure does sound a lot like Alex.

Looks pretty cool, have to see how well that will work in competition this year with the trailer attached
yeah, hopefully something a bit more sophisticated than just bulldozing the balls around >_<
yeah there will be more supporting it, if im not mistaken we were are flipping whats on top and what is on bottom, so the electrical board will be on the bottom and there are slots for the Crab drive in the Frame the electrical board is on.

Ahh... That makes much more sense. It just looked as if you were just going to leave them as they were but that additional framing should protect them some.
Your robot looks pretty cool :D Best of luck!
BALLIN!
wish i was there today...

Looks like you have a FP motor into the AndyMark planetary on at least 1 crab module. What made you guys decide to use FPs for your drive??

They prolly need a CIM for the ball launching/collection mechanism.. that'd be my guess.

I was more asking why they used a FP in the drive train because of power issues. I understand that we are in a different world this year with the wheels and the floor but i still wouldn't use a FP as my main power for a drive train.
So whats going on here is that we have Windows on Turning, CIM's on our 2 front wheels and FP's on 2 back wheels. the reasoning is that we need 1 CIM for shooting and 1 for intake.

its actually 2 windows and 2 globes on turning

So, if I'm not mistaken, you have 4 steering motors and 4 driving motors? 4WD independent swerve is always impressive. Have you tested it out on the slippery floor material yet?
Great job.

very cool drive train..hope it works well in competitions!
Good luck !
have you tried turing the wheels sideways to stop faster yet?
Hellooooo from the North East :D
Well what a great job on this bot, this was a lot of work but I think it will be all worth in the end. But now you must find someone to drive this bad boy,:p hope you can do this because if you can find this person you will be going places this year. We at TEAM 88 TJ2 wish your team all the best of luck this year and hope to see ya in GA in April:)
MOE and Team 88 TJ2 oh yeah ???? OH YEAH !!!! TYE DYE for ever....;)

we've tried that. It doesn't seem to make a huge difference for us.
Why use a crab drive this year? I mean, it is well built and looks really cool. I just wonder how it will do with a trailer on it.

those were my thoughts exactly
swerve has several advantages...
a lot dealing with control ability
a lot dealing with pinning
another being that if we find it isn't great we can just lock the wheels and go to tank.
over the past several days we had been at team 503's practice field practicing with a trailer. there is definitely a slight advantage to swerve.
we came up 20 pounds under, so we will probably keep it.
