this is for animation. To post links to the Autodesk AVA entry.
Could some moderator change the name of this thread to "Post a link to your 2009 animation" or something like that. so we don't have this confusion again?

youtube didn't want to put up our .mov file, so ended up converting it so it could be seen. When I converted it, it didn't put the full 5 seconds of the title page, but it was there on the one we submitted.

Looks like the Autodesk folks are getting them up slowly but surely on their website:
http://firstbasefrc.autodesk.com/?&nd=m_first_competition_vis2009_viewer&base=26
They probably have quite a bit more to process if last year's submission total is any indication. Interesting to see the storyboards and team photos...

Does someone know who won the 2009 visualization award? Is there a YouTube Link to it or a higher quality source so I can use it in an animation presentation?
Thanks!

It's an awesome animation well done by Team 1716: Redbird Robotics. What I wished is the students would give credits to Andrew Kramer for the animations at the end credits.
Andrew Kramer is the guy who developed the tutorials and After Effect files for everyone to use it at http://www.videocopilot.net. They could be in the violation of copyright infringement.

Our team had a great time developing the animation for 2009 and I am curious to see what everyone comes up with this year. Team 1716 will not be defending our National Championship because of several logistical difficulties. We wish everyone the best of luck and I wish the stars could have aligned better to allow us to come together with a team that could compete again, but that doesn't change the fact that I am still excited to see some new and excited ideas from this years group of entries.
Just a note about the previous post: Video Co-Pilot does develop and publish some terrific tutorials for After Effects. Compositing your animations is the key to getting really spectacular finished products, but our team spent dozens of hours reading and building files from those tutorials. A procedural tutorial requires you to construct something from the ground up which is what learning is all about. This is what our team has done and will continue to do in the future. I would recommend this to anyone who wishes to learn something new. We did not place everyone and everything in our credits for file size considerations, because if we went down that road where does it end? Should I thank Ford for bringing me to work, or Goodyear for keeping that Ford rolling down the road? A tutorial is a tool, nothing more, nothing less and used properly they are very effective tools. The tutorial usage statements on Video Copilot's site are fairly clear, please read them next time before making any outrageous insinuations.
Thanks and good luck to all.

I didn't make any insults. Copyright issues is a serious one. What I did implied was that I wish you guys can give credit to Andrew Kramer, the owner of VideoCopilot.net and its tutorials. So lot of animators can see where you guys got from and head over there to learn more. There's plenty of room to put his name in the video toward at the end.
Thank you for understanding,
-Josh Simpson
