Some stats from the other thread:
Drive:
4WD powered by CIM through AM GEM500 Planetary Gearbox
Rear wheels direct driven, chained to front
Acceleration control system and traction control on driver command
Pick-up:
Urethane belting powered by CIM and approx 3:1 sprocket reduction
Constant speed coding allowing more power to motors as balls are picked up
Hopper/Scorer:
Urethane belting floor powers balls out of hopper and keeps them "agitated" and prevents settling
Pneumatically actuated door
Can hold 15-20 balls before they start to spill over the sides
Ultrasonic range finders relay robot-to-trailer position to our drivers so we don't miss a dump
Can unload all 20 balls in under 2 seconds
Sweet looking robot. It reminds me of a Sweater Loom. CAn it weave its own Orbit Balls?

I dreamed about this robot last night. I was trying to figure out how they made the white polka dots. *sigh*

The white dots are small white labeling stickers that are the same size as the holes we drilled in the PVC spacers. They make a pretty cool effect as we run the belts.

Thank you! Basically, it picks balls up off the floor and holds them in the top "hopper". The belts run continuously to ensure constant agitation and to keep the balls from settling. It can hold around 20 balls before they start spilling over the sides from the motion (think about a concession stand popcorn machine...). We drive up to a goal and the front door of the hopper opens, then the balls come tumbling out. We can unload all 20 balls in a little less than 2 seconds.

They are the logos we have created or been given by our sponsors, and then we had them printed by TKO Graphix, a local company. We took the electronic files and lexan to them with our layout plans and then they print them on a large clear sheet and apply them.
They do a lot of big graphics work - trailers, trucks, race cars, etc. They did the logos on our team trailer last spring.
