Lol I see MORT in the back realizing we just got beat. That redo was unfortunate but oh well, we had a good run. I expect to work with 1923 in Philly or just have another rematch against you guys there. We'll bring more heat.

First time making Elims and taking it all the way for the regional win has got to be a special feeling and I think this picture says it all. Congratulations, I'm sure it will be the first of many:)

Yes, that is a stormtrooper. Mascots for team 2344 are 2 two Stormtroopers and Darth Vader. :p

I'm so glad to see how much you guys have really come together this year. An outstanding group of students, an amazing mentor, and great support has truly helped demonstrate what you're truly capable of. I'm very proud of you guys, and I'm very hopeful that your success can turn around into more support for your team in the future.

To Libby and the 1923 crew great job and congratulations on your first FRC regional win it is quite a feat especially the first time. I know that 1923 has been through a lot of changes and hardships since their inception its great to see them get one in the win column. Hopefully, I'll be seeing the whole team in Atlanta this year and keep up the good work for years to come.
Libby & Wayne:
Congratulations to your team. You've worked hard for this moment.

the reason for my CD user title...
Since we don't have school teachers, we're made up of a core group of parents that support us. We build in a garage in a student's house, and they pay for our propane heaters, our food, and they drove us out to 103's facility every weekend to drive practice. We love them for their support.
Our team parents stuck by us all weekend. They were in the stands, making all our kids were exactly where they had to be and keeping things in line. Most especially is our 'team mom'...my mom. She has been the complete support for the team all 4 years.
Before our last final match, I looked up to her, and said "Mom, this one's for you."
...and we won. :)
You can see some of our parents in the back cheering. They were so happy for us.

That's really quite an amazing story. So much can go wrong at a regional but sometimes the Robot Gods make it so and clearly it happened for you guys :)
To put a little perspective on things, Purdue FIRST had their first regional win over the weekend and it took ten years to do it. Plenty of close calls, but this was the first.
Congratulations!
Congratulations Team 1923. I know you worked very, very hard to get to this moment.
Looking at the pictures Libby linked, it struck me how often over the years Wayne has shown up in photos standing behind successful drivers. 1923 is lucky indeed to have this great mentor on board.

Me to....Congrats to you and the team.....and the parents. Its fun when the whole family wins together!
PS Libby, your hair looks great!
Congratulations, winning the regional on your first time in the elimination tournament, that AMAZING:eek: !! Great work & good Luck the rest of the season!
I've yet to experience this, in the past 9 years we've been in the eliminations 5 times and have yet to make it to the Semi-Finals.

That picture is Priceless. I had no idea of how much you guys had to go through to even compete this year until I talked to Wayne. We were standing about 10 feet away from your pit and he said "look, I don't do anything, it's all them." I turned around and saw a fury of activity in the pits and I think everyone was a student. You guys should be really proud.
One last thing, I think this picture should be titled "We're not done yet!".... See you in Philly.;)

Congrats 1923 on a success. I know Wayne put in many hours helping out (and probably about as many 'commuting' to help lol) and it definitely has paid off. I know the team has quite a crazy couple of years and it was very exciting news to hear a nice reward for all the students sticking it out and staying dedicated. Great job guys!

Wow. Great picture. Great win. Great story.
I love the picture and that is probably the best underdog story I've ever heard of in FIRST. Libby, congrats on this most deserving win. :)
Congrats team 1923 - it is a special feeling to win that first regional. Enjoy it.
Thank you all for the congratulations. Coming from my friends on Chief Delphi it means a lot.
1923's four years have been an incredible journey. As the team's founder I am so proud of every single student that's come through our program.
I'm sad that this year marks my time with 1923 coming to an end, but I know that with the new support in our community (who knew a trophy would get us in three papers?!!?), the underclassmen from the team will be able to keep it going and make me one very proud alumni.

Plus I think having other NJ teams just be more aware of your team will help out a lot too. We'll definitely help out whenever you need it in any situation. Just let me know. Before, we just weren't aware of problems your team faced. At least, I wasn't.
I can see this picture being used for FIRST PR. Congrats!

I can only hope that the rookies on this years team can experience something as awesome as this, this year, and for the MANY years to come.

I hope all students involved with first feels as accomplished as we did in that moment, caught there, by the star ledger.
