It's getting closer to that time of year again, so it's Roll Call time! lol
I'm still not sure if I'm going, but I'm just wondering where everyone is planning on staying this year.
Also, does anyone have any reviews about The Ellis Hotel in Atlanta?
I think it's fairly new.

not sure if im going this year, but if i am, i'd rather room with someone (last year, things didn't work out and i ended up paying quite a bit for my hotel room at the marquis)

Btw, I'll put together a Google map of where teams are staying this year just like the ones that were done in previous years, if someone can point me in the direction of a how-to for making your own Google map.
The first thing I should ask though, is does it require a Google (mail/other) account?
I don't have one of those... yet.

558 will be joining the crowd at the Marquis. For the sake of my 10 year old daughter, I sure hope the pool works this time!!

We are pretty far away every year. Turner Field Hotel. Other teams always seem to stay there also.
But with rental cars every year, we just drive to the event which is pretty quick.
We always find "secret" parking which is, lets just say, 2 minutes from the pit. ;)

Wow its good to see that other teams were looking forward to seeing us in Atlanta. Now that we won in Colorado we will definitely be attending the Championship :D That said, you can count on us working on a Roboprom for this year. As for all those frisbee players out there, there is pick-up frisbee at Georgia Tech every Friday 9pm-midnightish, and it's only a few MARTA(metro) stops from the Georgia Dome. I however am and since Kettering neglected to tell me until today to book a room I am in search of one that ISNT going to cost them an arm and a leg (I may not be paying for it but I dont see a point in spending a lot for a room during FRC competitions, who sleeps?) Any suggestions of a place within walking distance and that has non smoking rooms at a reasonable price or a team who has room for a Kettering rep? (Me)

The windows are coming for downtown Atlanta’s Westin Peachtree Plaza, but they’re not here yet. Every piece of glass on the exterior of the landmark circular hotel on Peachtree Street will have to be replaced, due to the tornado of March 2008. The project is expected to begin in June or July and take at least a year to complete, said hotel general manager Ed Walls on Thursday.
So why has it taken so long? “The windows were 35 years old, and it’s tough to match them,” Walls said.
The hotel lost 81 custom-made window panes in the tornado. And those original windows aren’t made any more.
Even if the original windows were still manufactured, they no longer meet the city’s code standards, Walls said.
The top priorities for giving the 73-story hotel its new “skin” have included safety and code guidelines. But that’s not all.
“We want to make the place look good,” Walls said.

1089 will be apparently one of the few teams staying at the Hyatt Regency.
766 was staying there as well. Some of you may have seen our team sprawled in the corner playing Mafia one night, and then Western chess and Chinese chess the other two;:D most of us stayed from Wednesday night to Sunday morning.
