Just a few minutes ago, ABC news world report featured 1289, the Gearheads in a special report about sci/tech. There will be a link forthcoming, when one becomes available on their website. It was short, sweet, and had alot of the messages we as FRC teams try to spread.

This is refreshing! Thanks to the Gearheads for letting ABC follow your Atlanta experience!

Great coverage Gearheads! I am definitely satisfied with the press the championship received this year.

When my team got back to Penfield on a school bus from the Airport yesterday, there was a cameraman waiting, and we got a great story that night on the local news! Thanks again to Mr. Drake for contacting them!

That's great that FIRST made world news. One thing that I never thought about was contacting the local newspaper around the regional competition and trying them to do a story. I will keep this in mind for next years competition for sure!

Wow! Thanks for sharing that. Nice editing job by ABC, too.

BTW, 1289 are the Gearheadz. The Gearheads are 1189. Confusing, eh? Have they appeared in the same event?

No problem, it's a matter of timing and availability. Next year we'll do even better. If teams want help with how to establish connections for PR let us know - we have resources on our website and can offer advice.

Any help that you could offer our team would be greatly appreciated. Our PR team consists of two people for next year and they are completely new at PR.

Not yet, but both did receive 2008 Imagery Awards. :p
There are a staggering number of gearhead teams out there.
