winning by default??

I was looking through the team list for the LI Regional and I realized that my team is the only rookie team there. While on one point, that kinda sucks, because we're probably going to be shown up by a whole lot of established and talented teams, this also makes us the only team that can win the "top seeded rookie" award as well as any other rookie award. So, is it possible that we can win this award (or any other rookie award) by default?

How do you all know what teams are going to each regional and if anyone can fill me in and tell me how or give me a link to where it says all this Iwould be very thankful
