How does your team pass the time between build seasons?

My friends and I have had an interesting discussion on how to build an EMP generator so far.

With summer prototyping season? Seriously, every team I know of works to improve themselves during this time.

We do demos. Also, we've been brainstorming about how to up our student count (I can count our pending team on my hands). We don't really have the funds/facilities to prototype or make anything super-cool during the summer, but we've built a shed (for our supplies) and a cart in the past.

Robotics summer camps, car washes, projects, training, VEX, new member training, sponsor rectruitment, fundraising, off season events... to name a few.

Wait, you mean build season is over? We are still improving the robot code.

IRI.

:D

My team started demoing less than a week after we got back from Atlanta. Demo demo demo. Spread the word of FIRST. Then in the fall start training your rookies however you go about it.

My team's always attempting to improve robot code, note the attempting part of it...

But seriously, build whatever you can to get experience during the offseason. My team likes CAD and code on old robots because once you have the programs it's literally dirt cheap.

I don't know what our team has done in years past, but this year we were working on one of our community service projects.

We don't really do anything during the summer XD It's hard to get everyone together to actually do something. I think some of the code gets improved (that's also happening this year). Our captains and mentors also discuss some of the business aspects of the team, and what needs to be changed.

And as Nathan said, this year we have our hands full with our school supply sorting, the sorting part of which we FINALLY finished today :ahh:

You get a job at the school and then sit there and mess with the robot when theres something else far more important to do, also you begin working on a cool project for the robot, and you bother your mentor about how the robot can still be improved
