The picture at the bottom seems random, but who knows.

Definitely a hint... the file name is "hint+2.jpg"
Also, the odd, in-the-middle reference to Herschel Walker and William Perry... more hints?

William "The Refrigerator" Perry
Herschel "The Turkey" Walker
Hmmm ... Thanksgiving?

Jupiter-acy?
Increased Gravity?
I think it will be a soccer-type game.
The source of the first hint picture is here: http://www.ci.cedar-park.tx.us/cp/resources/1/CPEC-side-exterior.gif --It's the Cedar Park Event Center. Here is some info about the Center from http://stars.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=450346 :
Cedar Park Event Center -- Fast Facts:
-Future home of the Texas Stars Hockey Club, which will serve as the primary development affiliate of the NHL’s Dallas Stars.
-Multi-use facility: concerts, basketball, tennis, indoor soccer, rodeos, trade shows, figure skating competitions, conventions, banquets, dances, graduations, pageants, celebrations and seminars.
So hockey is the main event there, but I am betting on soccer, since indoor soccer is one of the activities, and the gratuitous references to football players in a post with a picture of Saturn (in the second hint) could refer to a soccer team (http://www.saturn-fc.ru/en/) or league (http://saturnfutbol.org/).
Add to this the availability of this ball http://parts.ftcrobots.com/store/detail.aspx?CategoryID=163&by=9&ID=6370&c=1&t=0&l=0 and this sensor http://www.hitechnic.com/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi?preadd=action&key=NSK1042 (also in the Lego Education catalog) and see what you think.
Hmmm
The Refrigerator (William Perry) and an Ice Hockey arena...
Ice or cold?
Maybe there's something we're going to do with the regolith from last years FRC game?

I thought that they might go towards regolith, but aren't they developing an Omni-wheel for release this upcoming year? I'm guess that the playing surface won't be TOO altered.

Crescent or cube shaped game pieces?

First off, many of you are mistaking the picture of URANUS as a picture of Saturn. just because it has rings doesnt make it saturn. also, there is no way FIRST will ever do a soccer based game because that already exists. its called bot ball. also read this page on uranus:
http://www.crystalinks.com/uranus.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.crystalinks.com/uranus.html&usg=__WolESf8cz_qY69w-4q-aVVix4L0=&h=400&w=533&sz=25&hl=en&start=1&um=1&tbnid=lFbv9Wfk9R_oWM:&tbnh=99&tbnw=132&prev=/images%3Fq%3Duranus%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Doff%26rlz%3 D1C1CHMG_en-USUS291US303%26um%3D1
Sir william Herschel discovered uranus and the clue references WILLIAM perry and HERSCHEL walker. William herschel also discovered infrared radiation so that will definetly be part of the game and so the ball and new sensor will be used. i dont know what the picture means though.

Just to close the loop a little, that picture of Uranus on the blog is almost certainly an infrared picture from the Hubble. New infrared transmitting ball, new infrared sensor -- looks like all infrared, all the time.

Also look at what the infared sensor is detecting! Maybe the playing piece will be shaped like Uranus. I know there is a toy that looks kinda like a ringed planet, but I don't know what its called, so my searches have been unfruitful :(

actually that pictures is just normal not infrared. if it were infrared then half the planet would not be black. Any ideas on why the texas stadium? maybe regolith but we arent getting new wheels. maybe another ice analog

If you don't use infrared or artificially color the picture, photos of Uranus are all gray, not blue. On closer look, the photo in Ken's blog looks more like a Photoshopped image than a straight photograph -- the coloring and stars look suspect to me. If you search for images of Uranus, infrared images are bright blue, visual spectrum images are gray, and all the others look like they are doctored in one way or another. I welcome correction from astronomy experts.
