Its this new-age form of engineering-enlightenment. Be the feild, then the robot concept will come to you.

The new field design seemed to develop a personality of its own... one that didn't like people not wearing safety glasses.
One desperate freshman decided to raid the GDC design room and steal the game design. Here he emerges, after having had to go over bottomless pits, around dragons, and under mountains to get into the room. He also had to go through a small wormhole on the way out, but the escape tunnel has brought him to...

A regular person's wardrobe will send them to Narnia. A FIRSTer's wardrobe will send them here. :yikes:

Most adolescence come up with pranks when a fellow comrade is the first to fall asleep in a social environment. In most instances, this involves moving the friend's mattress outside, drawing on his face, or dipping his hand in warm water. Here is a case study on how FIRST students become more creative after their involvement with robotics.
Gotta have the obligatory

Just when you thought it was safe to climb the platform.....
From Wes Craven, visionary director aren't they all of "The People Under the Stairs", comes his chilling new masterpiece of nerd horror, "The Dorks Under the Ramp".
Starring Ving Rhames as Koko Ed.

As the volunteers approach to take down the field, one FIRSTer goes under the ramp in protest and yells, "If you want to take the ramp down, you'll have to take me down with it!!"
"Wait, so that's NOT where the human players are stationed this year?"

Nothing new, just typical Freshman hazing. We'll let him out Saturday before we leave.
Just short of a water game, the 2010 game entraps drivers in an aquarium. No word yet on whether or not there is in fact water under there.

I have often told students that they need to get down and see what the robot sees in order to understand design limitations and requirements. However, I still forget that my advice needs to be tendered with a knowledge of the person to whom I am speaking. This is a demonstration of one of those times when I vastly underestimated my audience. Another three or four hours of build time lost to extraction and first aid.
