WPI is proud to be hosting our annual Savage Soccer event this fall.

A WPI project created in 1995 to introduce the principles of FIRST to freshmen and sophomores, Savage Soccer has grown into an event with more than 60 teams, as well as satellite events across the nation.

The rules and field drawings will be released on October 10th, at the Savage Soccer Kick-Off. The event will be held live at WPI and will be webcast for everyone to view (the webcast link will appear the day of kick-off). The WPI competition will be held on November 14th, 2009.

All you need to compete is a VEX robotics kit, a few friends, and some enthusiasm!
To register a team for the main event, please go to http://users.wpi.edu/~savage/Teams/register.html. Send any questions you may have to savage@wpi.edu.

If you are interested in attending one of the other Savage Soccer events, you can visit http://www.wpi.edu/~savage for more information on dates, locations, costs, etc.

We always welcome new Savage Soccer events throughout the world. If you are interested in hosting an event, please contact us (savage@wpi.edu)! It is not required that you follow our exact schedule, but if you wish to, field drawings and rules will be available one week prior to kickoff. Savage Soccer events are a great way to promote robotics in your area, provide kids with a hands-on learning opportunity, and even raise funds for your FIRST, VEX, or other robotics team!

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL VEX or FTC EVENT!

Sweet! can't wait! Pembroke Academy will definitely be sending a couple of teams! Is there going to be the same emcee? He was awesome last year.

In order to keep costs down for teams, we will be using the existing crystal system only.

Game Hint: NaHCO3 + CH3COOH -> CO2 + H2O + CH3COONa
Hmm, interesting hint; too bad I don't remember anything I learned in chemistry. Guess we'll find out what it means in ~24 hours.

Well, there is water (H20) in the equation which means one thing..... WATER GAME!!!!:yikes:

I actually don't strongly believe that it will be a water game but, the joke was just sitting there starring at me.:rolleyes:

If you remembered your chemistry or googled this hint, you'd know that this year's game will be a BLAST! :cool:
