Little did they know, the handles to their light and net would be confiscated by the GDC to use as "pokey-pokey" sticks to unclog the upper goal auto counter.

At a Philadelphia Regional planning committee:
Treasurer: "Listen, we're losing money, so we need to make some cutbacks. Why construct a full-size FRC field for over $10,000 when we can just use a net and light on a stick for $49.99?"

Team 272 finally perfected their Aim High bot in 2009, regrettably three years too late for the Atlanta Championships.

The net approach worked fine until they started testing their trackball mechanism... We're gonna need a new mentor too.

I know, I know!!! It's the IRI Mentor's Challenge!
I can't think of a good caption. This is merely to gain my 1 pity point Billfred bestows upon us noncreative folks. Hooray for participation! (I haven't decided if I want a medal or a pin.)

[not an entry]Once or twice I've gained lots of points by coming up with some throw-away line just to get my participation point, and Billfred somehow thinks it was profound or hilarious or something ...[/not an entry]

It appears that the robot's vision camera accidentally locked on to the bright green net instead of the bright green light. Oh well, whatever works...

Team 272 couldn't afford a full Aim High playing field. Here we see them calibrating there shooter with a green light, on a stick and a fishing net.. At the regional they discovered to late that the student was holding the light 5' above where it should have been.

Once all the stores that carried Poof balls ran out, teams sent members to get them the old fashioned way: catch them mid flight in their natural habitat, the pits.
Elite teams had been doing this from the beginning anyway- they're fresher that way so they fly better.
