Team 1716 is attending the Wisconsin Regional and is excited to be there. We are also looking forward to meeting all of the other teams that also will be competing in Wisconsin.

1714's registered for Wisconsin and I'm sure we're happy to return to our home regional. :D
160 days!!!!
Its going to be a blast this year, in addition to having the chance to meet back up with some great people and teams!

You got 1675's in. Being a 10 minute drive from shop to venue means we're pretty much obligated to go. :)

My team and I would really like to go to the wisconsin regional this year, but I dont believe we will be able to raise enough money in time... If we dont go I think I may drive over there myself :D

I would LOVE if you guys made it to Wisconsin; you were a great team and I might not be going to MN so you should come. Keep fundraising, man, it's worth it. :)
If you make it yourself, you're welcome to hang out and cheer with us in the stands.

And that is why fundraising is a 12 month approach...
You don't have to worry about timelines that way.
After registration I posted a note on the white board in the lab welcoming the team to the San Diego regional. I listed our home event (Hawaii) and the Championships also. The new team members were interested but the remaining members of our traveling team were down right dower. When I asked why the long faces they replyed that the special invite for the "all-girl" teams to San Diego was interesting but that they felt sad that we would not be going to Wisconsin this year. It was like a second "home" event for them.
If any team is considering adding an additional event to their competition season consider Wisconsin as a top tier event. The people are some of the friendliest you will meet. The teams will give you the shirt off their backs if will help you get to the arena. We have made some life long friends there. It is not an easy event, the competition will be as hard as you will find anywhere, but the help and support is even better.
We may be changing cheese heads for cheesy poofs, but in the imortal words of Gen. MacArthur "we shall return" (team # 2437)

Please say it isn't sooooooo. Your team was a pleasure to have around, their energy and attitude will be missed in Milwaukee.
Good luck at all of the other comps your team is attending.

Wisconsin is our second goal, our first goal is to raise enough money to pay for the registration fee for the Championship. Our second goal is to raise enough money to go to the Wisconsin regional. We are already really close to meeting our first goal and about to start on the second. Im crossing my fingers that we raise enough for the wisconsin regional! Thanks for the invite to cheer for you guys!!! Maybe I can find a cheese hat laying somewhere around my house? :D

I agree with you cdebo, and I've never even been to the Wisconsin Regional. Just the Wisconsin teams that I have seen and talked to (#93, #1714, and #2826) at the Minnesota Regionals is more than enough to show that!
111 has decided to attend Wisconsin as our 2nd regional.

Very cool, although before Midwest last year, the first four events (including one IRI) we have attended with Wildstang, we were beat by 111 in the eliminations.

So much for winning Wisconsin this year...
In all seriousness, I'm more excited about the WI regional now. Glad to hear that Stang's coming :D

I do not see team 111 on the official list yet? http://www.usfirst.org/roboticsprograms/frc/regionalevents.aspx?id=430
C.O.R.E. team 2062 will be there in hopes of repeating their 2088 success.

Team 93 is coming, like always. :)
EDIT: 111 is coming? Well, another good team to add to the contest, I hope we're with them in the elimination rounds (cross-fingers)
171 will be there of course. We're also doing Northstar again.

One team that I don't see on the Wisconsin list (or any other list) is 2970. Any word on if they are competing this year? They were an extremely impressive rookie team last year.

I know 90% of 2970 was seniors, so I wouldn't be surprised if they folded or merged with 1652. Then again, they apparently registered extremely late last year too.
According to their FIRST team page, they have not registered for any events this year.
We spoke to members from 2970 during competitions last year and they said that it was a one year gig and that the two teams (2970 and 1652) would be merging for the 2010 season.
I was talking to a guy too on team 2970 and he also mentioned that it was probably going to be their last year. We will also be attending the Wisconsin Regional again.
1018 will also be making a stop at Wisconsin.

Wisconsin is attracting a chunk of outside attention attention this year. Due to the unique combination week of Boilermaker, Midwest, and St. Louis, and the one week earlier position in the scheduling, it's becoming a common second (or third) event for many Midwest teams and Michigan teams. 111 is returning once again (came to Wisconsin in 2006 under similar circumstances), while 216 is coming for the first time, as is 288 and 1018.
A few teams that traditionally did Midwest / Wisconsin are still doing so albeit in reverse, with 1732 and 2039 taking that route. Other Wisconsin teams like 1675 are going for Minnesota or other regionals instad though.
The most interesting thing to note obviously is Winnovation's absence from Wisconsin. They have been off the board by the time the second alliance captain has picked every year they've attended, and won the event twice. The elmination rounds should shake up a little with this staple removed, albeit likely filled by 111, 216, and 1018.
My thoughts when looking at the list so far. Good luck!
