ok i have been scouring the forums on both CD and n the FIRST/FTC page and i cannot find the answer to this question so can anybody help me out
there is a rule that says we are not alloud 11" of zip ties so is this for total or is this 11" on one zip tie?

Judging by the other language in that section (specifically #16) I would say that the rule is saying any number of zipties provided that each individual ziptie is less than 11" in length.

I will agree with the entire post, it would seem a little difficult to use many zip ties if you could only have 11" total on the entire bot. It would also be very time consuming in inspection to measure every one and add it up.

FIRST Forums (http://forums.usfirst.org/), FTC Q&A section. (It's down for maintenance right now. Hopefully they remembered not to delete all of the old posts without archiving them first.)

Don't even think about using a 12" zip tie. What are you going to want next, duct tape? It's a slippery slope I tell ya.
