And now we know who's ghostwriting the blog. We also have the first three sections of the Manual.

Cool Stuff To Know, if you've been making absolutely no assumptions about next year:

Robots will still be powered by batteries.

Robots will have operators. Specifically, there will be four competing team members as noted in Section 3. Only one of them can be a mentor. Something tells me there's not much change there this year.

Robots will be heavy.

3.14: Teams that have won the RCA or EI before do not receive [participation] medallions, regardless of year won. I don't know if this is a change or not...

Nothing out of the ordinary. Thanks FIRST for letting me get refreshed on the rules early. Yay!

Just something I noticed while reading this post, (whether or not it was Franks original intention when writing, I do not know) I think it's great that he acknowledges that FRC is more than about the robots.

It may be his way of saying that it is made up of a community that cares. We care about Bill Miller's well-being and health. We also care about the FRC program and understand that the staff is short-handed right now, but they are doing their best to keep things running smoothly. That would probably be intentional. :)

Where did you get the "regardless of year won" item? I'm not finding it :/

The other awards that make you inelgible for bronze medals are labeled 2010 specifically.

Participation Medals. I believe that has been the norm for a while. If you win some medals, then you do not receive your participation medals. They're just participation medals anyway.

At the risk of sounding dumb, where can I find the 2010 manual? :/

As you age, you come to realize that your health is everything. Think about that for a moment.

And, I want to see Section 7 !!

I think when Mr. Miller is able, he will tell us what he feels is appropriate for us to know. As a community, we can respect his privacy and we can help keep things running smoothly by being supportive and patient.

I can't believe that I said the CD community could be patient - in December.

Yeah, isn't it time for some hints to come out? :)
