A couple of things.
1. Yall must have all sorts of time on your hands.
2. It seems kinda weird that you guys are practicing lifting trophies. Never good to count your chickens before they've hatched.
3. What is that greenish cover book in the video?

My rule of thumb is that any team who's won four World Championships can count their chickens whenever they want. :p

I'm guessing you are not familiar with the Small Parts Catalog, and it's historical role in FIRST. Try the link on the CD portal when you have a few minutes.

Nice job on the video! :)

This just brightened my day. When will the PVC for dummies book be available to the public? What about the Design by Beatty series of books? I put in a pre-order back in 2008 and would like to have a rough estimate. Thank you.

I generally agree with Karthik here, I would also like to say that it might be a good thing for 217 to count their chickens before they hatch, wouldn't want any freshman getting list would we?

The joke's going to be on you when you realize that eggs are this year's game piece.

Oh god. I give it roughly 6 hours until someone read's this post and starts a game hint thread... :yikes:

:D. Can't argue with that logic.

Never doubt the force of Beatty;)
Whenever you have free time on your hands, just ask yourself this: "What Would Beatty Do?"

Bill's definitely pumped for this season!
Whenever you have free time on your hands, just ask yourself this: "What Would Beatty Do?"
You know I do all the time, but it sometimes gets me in trouble!
Anyway, every year I look forward to Team 71's video and as always this one made me laugh!
Mr. Bill, just a reminder to hoist those trophies by the base during your drills. They sometimes can break, especially with really strong people like your team.

Lyrics to Gonna Fly Now - Bill Conti
Trying hard now
it's so hard now
trying hard now
Getting strong now
won't be long now
getting strong now
Gonna fly now
flying high now
gonna fly, fly, fly...
For me - there's a lot to think about in this video. A lot. For example, I had a different reaction to the trophy lifts. I thought about the weight of that reputation and history and that by lifting the trophies in the workouts, they are preparing, physically and mentally - to go for it again. At the same time, the video can be watched on a very surface level and enjoyed that way, too. Thanks 71, it's a great way to celebrate the season.
Fly.
