RPI's Software / Computer Systems Engineering program is fairly good. Obviously I'm biased.

What type of software engineering would you like to do? There are a lot of specialties within software, like embedded software (control systems for things like robots, machines, cars, aircraft, etc), graphics, PC Applications, etc. Depending on which you like to do best, you may want to adjust your major.

At some schools, software engineering may be the same thing as computer science at another school. Other schools may place a much greater emphasis on process and how to manage complex software projects and call that software engineering, while having a separate computer science degree that is more heavily dependent on algorithms and coding. Make sure you understand what you want.
Here's RIT's program descriptions for software engineering (http://www.rit.edu/programs/program_detail.php?id=634) and computer science (http://www.rit.edu/programs/program_detail.php?id=542) so you can compare.
