Don't know if I'm missing this somewhere else because I tried to look but, does it matter which end of a Jaguar a CAN cable plugs into?
(Besides the black Jaguar)

Nope, the CAN connectors on the grey Jaguars are wired straight through (with a tap for the Jaguar to do something with the signal of course). Either cable into either connector should work.
