I have a question regarding the woodie flowers award. The mentor that we are attempting to write this award for, had to leave at the start of this season. However, they played such a vital role last season, we wanted to recognize Her. Dose anyone know if it is a bad thing to talk excessively about what our mentor did last year (due to the fact she has been gone all this season there is not much to write about otherwise), or should we just try and recognize a different mentor?

Regional WFFA (except District Event Teams) – Each team may nominate one adult member from their team for the WFFA. The adult mentor must be on the same team as the student nominators
Good question and it is great that you are working to nominate your mentors.
The quote above is from the FIRST Awards definition. If your mentor is no longer on your team, then I am not sure that you can nominate them. Is this person on another team, or not involved with any team? With some more detail, this would be a good question for the FIRST Q+A.
Another option might be to write the essay and then have a special event and share the essay with the person. If you did this, then you could also nominate a current mentor for your team.

The mentor is still apart of our team, but because of the distance problems she is having due to moving to Norther California (were in southern) she has not been able to be as involved. Thank you for your fast response!
