No swerve?! :ahh:

That's some crazy suspension though. Nice!

EDIT: LOL at the ending.

love the new bot especially the roller. the song choice is perfect. i couldn't understand what was going on with your drive-train in regard to the pneumatics, could you explain it?

...some words that come to mind: wow, epic, fast, crazy-awesome!?!

Cool stuff, as usual! Solid kicker, and a nice ball controlling device. I'd love to hear more about the suspension you're using on your drivetrain.

I'm also wondering how easy it will be for you to go under the tunnel with bumpers attached, but I doubt that's much of an issue seeing how well you can go over the bump.

Any plans for endgame lifting?

The last 5 seconds of the video is by far the best thing I've seen on CD in years. You just had the entire 1114 shop erupt in cheers. An impressive feat at 2:24 AM.

Wow, solid 'bot. Love the pneumatic wheels, though I miss the swerve.

It's like you can't flip your bot if you tried, the bump's nothing at all.

Have to second that here. I had to watch the last couple of seconds several times. Love the kids/drivers running away at the end.

That looks amazing! I'm excited to see it at Lone Star up close!
Is there anymore that is going to added for lifting or are you guys not going for it?

1:00.

Moments like this makes me wonder what happens when there is a defender on the other side of the bump aiming directly at the belly of the robot. :D

Lots and lots of 6/8 wheels drive this year, this is definitely one of the best one I've seen so far. Nicely done.

Very nice shot from mid field by the way. That's exactly what I want to see us do in the next few days.

Ah its that magical time of year when the Robonauts post their video and make everyone else feel like slackers and way behind :-p.

Hilarious video, neat looking robot, and an awesome suspension.

Great job guys, keep up the good work.

Wow. The Robonauts 2007 video is maybe my favorite robotics video of all time, and the 2008 and 2009 videos are outstanding as well.

I have to say the 2010 lives up to its reputation.

For those of you who have been missing out, here are the 2007-2009 videos:

Team 118, I have to talk to your video crew some time.

i was just wondering what material you used to cover the roller and also what motor you were using to power the roller

That's a really cool robot you have there. And, I also agree that the last five seconds of the video were extremely epic!

So I have to ask if the flying robot was done intentionally?

no matter what, it's awesome good work

This robot looks like it will do pretty good at competition.

Are those air-filled tires, if so, i was under the impression that air-filled tires were not allowed in competition due to the fact that all air must be produced by a compressor and stored in no more than 4 storage tanks. Compressed air shall not come from any other source. Rule R75 i think. I could easily be wrong. I was just curious

A Team Update was released allowing them a few weeks ago.

The ending makes up for your lack of a V6 this year. :p

Pausing the video leads me to believe the drivetrain still has 6 motors in it.

For the purposes of the FIRST competition, air-filled (pneumatic) wheels are not considered pneumatic devices, and are not subject to the pneumatic rules (although they must still satisfy all other appropriate rules).Pneumatic wheels were once included in the Kit of Parts, if I remember correctly.

EDIT: Chris beat me to it.

Stogi, Based on what we saw last year with 118, (Mid-Season Video Showed Long Based Robot, but then Final Robot Was Wide-Based Revision Of the First), I think it's entirely possible that we may see a V6 on the Competition Machine...

I for one, was really hoping 118 would build a 6WD swerve... But this is an acceptable substitute.

True that!

Great video, even more awesome robot, ridiculously-epic ending! Keep up the good work for the remainder of the build season. :)

Watching it bounce around on the bump at about 0:22 reminds me alot of the Robotics Institute "Crusher" robot
