View Full Version : Secondary Regulator (monier)
Hi -
We ran into a little bit of trouble with the secondary regulator on the robot. Currently, our pneumatics set up uses two regulators, one to create a zone at 60 psi, and another to create a zone at 30 psi. The primary regulator (60 psi zone) is working fine, but our secondary regulator (the one with the yellow ring) does not. It appears that air continues to leak out of the secondary regulator. The system will never fill up higher than what the secondary regulator is set at. This is the same set up as we have used before and it has worked before, but for some reason, it is no working at all. We have no idea why... Any suggestions?
Thanks.
That should work. Could it be mounted backwards(there is an arrow on the bottom indicating airflow), or one of the plugs is leaking?

Sound like you may have in installed backwards. Check and make sure.
The way we have it is that the arrow follows the air directional flow intended. (From the 60 to the 40). It appears that the air is actually leaking from the regulator itself. We thought it was cracked so we tried another one but the same problem.
Also, are we allowed to use two primary regulators (the fully black ones and have one of them count as a secondary regulator? Or do we have to use the same kind of secondary regulator that they gave us? I can't find anywhere in the rules that do not allow it, but I'm not sure, i might have missed something.

Is the arrow on the back of the regulator supposed to be in the direction of the air flow? For example, we have it so that air will go in from the start of the arrow ( ---- ) and leave from the arrow tip ( > ). Is this correct?

That sounds accurate.
Have you plugged both of the gauge ports on the sides if you are not using them and made sure that all fittings and plugs are properly teflon taped and tightened?

Joshua,
In my opinion, yes you can.
