ooohhh very nice, how far is it kicking?

between 20-25 feet and around 3-6 feet in height

Beautiful! thats one of the designs we though of but didn't think of how to make it so well :)

Can you reduce the kicking distance somehow?

Easily clears 2 bumps.

Yes, we have lighter springs to do so but if we change one thing on our design, little fact being kept secret :D , this design can be made for scoring from mid-range, but if also left in this configuration it can maybe score from the defensive position

Yeah we can do it manually by switching spings but we also have something to change the tension

Is it timed correctly? I counted 5 shots in the 10 second video.
a. BALL Interaction Volume – Solely for the purposes of interacting with a BALL, MECHANISMS that are below the BUMPER may extend up to the BUMPER PERIMETER, for a period not exceeding two seconds. After returning inside the FRAMER PERIMETER, such MECHANISMS are not permitted to re-extend beyond the FRAME PERIMETER for at least two seconds. If your kicker is not retracting almost instantaneously, you will be extending again in less than 2 seconds. I'm sure it won't be a big problem to slow the cycle time down to 2.5 or 3 seconds. Is there a way to fire it at will, rather than regularly and continuously?

If your kicker doesn't go beyond the FRAME PERIMETER at all, please disregard the concerns in this post.

Yes we immediately thought of this rule when designing our kicker and yes it does stay inside our frame perimeter so we can multi-fire but most likely will never have the chance to in a real game environment, but its always cool to see

Yeah we are putting a switch on it so we can stop it in the cocked position

One thing to point out about the video is that not all the balls are filled to the right size, some arent pumped up enough, but they are mostly good.

The last ball shot was the worst, hence why it didnt make it over the burm

Simple, clean and effective...I like it

I love it guys! We're using the same idea with springs rather than surgical tubing or bungee cords. I love the cam idea, we couldn't find a good enough way to apply a cam shaft so we have pneumatic load cylinder and a separate firing one. Congrats on the great design!

I take it you guys are going to Orlando for your regional since you are from Florida. I know I can't speak for my team, but if you are going to Florida, im pretty sure 442 will be interested with pairing up with you, if your kicker works as consistently as it does in the video.

yes we are, we always go to Florida and it does work as shown consistently :D

Team Pronto made a prototype identical to this with one modification. We used elastic tubing, but could also adjust the distance the ball went with relative ease thanks to the winch system we developed to change the tightness of the elastic.

Nice work!
