Hi Everyone:
We at Exploding Bacon are starting to plan a pre-Regional Team Social. We are researching having the event at a place called Hard Knocks, a local LAN gaming center with "simulated laser combat" aka laser tag on steroids. Here's a link to the website that has a virtual tour. http://indoorwar.com/
It can hold up to 200 or so people with an hour of laser tag and then an hour of gaming.
To have the party at this venue would run about $25.00 per person. I was wondering what the CD community thinks about this price. It is actually less than what it normally costs to play there, but I'm not sure if it is to much with all the other expenses of travel.
We would really appreciate your feedback before we make any final arrangements.

Sounds reasonable. This place looks awesome. We where actually going to do this instead of paint ball last year because of the fact that some of our members don't like the little bit of pain associated with it ;) but our plans fell through due. To scheduling issues. Let us no if this works out because I know s few bionic tigers who would be interested. Thanks Wendy :)

The Social would be Wednesday evening from about 7-9. For a little bit higher cost it would include pizza and a drink. Then the mentors wouldn't have to worry about dinner for the team that night.
sounds like fun. Although, I would prefer paintball.

w00t!! I'm so glad we're finally organizing this. Hard Knocks really is a great place to hang out and it would be SO much fun with a boatload of FIRSTers. :yikes:

Wow James.. how are you!! In case you didn't hear pink is hosting a paint ball party the Friday or Saturday after ship date. There are about 4 teams coming and it would be awesome if we had some bacon to along with the Pink and Purple!

Just got off the phone with Hard Knocks and the lowest price they can give us is 30.00 per person. But no registration fee and you get one full hour of combat and one full hour of gaming.

Does anyone know if their main team contact received the email invite? All the teams that I have talked to had no idea about it. I wonder if there was a snafu somewhere. Anyway.....Chiefdephi will spread the word!

The Florida Regional Committee has sent out the invites but if students could ask their mentors (or they can do it) to let me know how many people from each team will be attending that would be helpful. I need to know how much food to cook.

As for FCAT, someone needs to write a letter to the state government and let them know that FIRST is more important than some stupid test that tortures children year after year.
