Hi guys,
we are planning to use a gamepad to control the robot but its neither a logitech nor a xbox controller...(see the pic)
and we don't know if it's permitted to use it...I search the manual but there is nothing saying we can't use it...
Can we?

There are no limitations on the type of controls you can use, so long as none of it violates any other rules.

For example, you could create your very own joystick, so long as it doesn't shine lasers at the other team or blast Taylor Swift songs whenever you turn right.

<R86> prohibits wireless devices in general, and Bluetooth in particular, as part of the OPERATOR CONSOLE.

(Bluetooth operates on the same 2.4 GHz frequencies as 802.11b/g WiFi. I don't know if things are different this year, but there was definitely stuff going on as part of the field system on those frequencies in 2009.)

If you are feeling creative, you could make a Wiimote like device with the PSoC (in the kit) since it has an accelerometer. You would probably be a lock for the Innovation in Control Award. If you try this, make sure you have a backup. Our PSoC failed on us during the SF1-2 when the Classmate battery voltage got low, causing us to run the wrong Auto Mode.
