Custom Dashboard

Sorry for asking again, but this is important!
Could someone please tell me how to send more information to the dashboard on the classmate for a custom dashboard. I know it involves using dashboard datatype.ctl, but pas that I am lost. Either labview and/or Java if you can. Thanks!
